Yesterday January 12th, Nintendo presented interesting and exciting information for their upcoming console Switch. Revealing more information of how the console will work and transform from a touch screen controller to a tablet for on-the-go gaming. As well as their controversial online service and reveal of games coming to the console. All pricing set at USD.
Nintendo has revealed their console pricing structure starting at $299.99 with an assortment of color options. Ranging from Gray, Red & Blue joy-con configurations as the standard console and dock in black for all configurations. Their Nintendo Switch Pro controller is set at $69.99 for the gamers that prefer having a standard and comfortable grip similar to other console controllers. Extra Joy-Con controllers for additional players set at $79.99 and either/or configurations of the controller left & right set at $49.99. The charger grip that combines both of Joy-Cons into a controller set at $29.99. Their dock set that includes AC adapter and HDMI cable as well set at $89.99. Finally their Joy-Con wheel controller that would be best for their Mario Kart games with a price of $14.99.
Their online service has already gotten criticism for being behind a paywall to use. However, for Switch owners that are early adopters will not have to worry about the paywall. It will be free as a trial run as online play only until their service officially launches in Fall 2017. The Fall launch will include the online lobby and voice chat capability. With free monthly download games from their NES or Super NES library being available for a month. Lastly, subscribers will get access to Nintendo’s exclusive deals on upcoming content.
Switch will come available with an assortment of games that Nintendo hopes will perform better than their previous console launches. Consisting of solid third-party support from developers such as Bethesda and Ubisoft. In-house however, Nintendo plans to launch The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Arms, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Snipperclips, and 1, 2, Switch. Third party games will consist of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, NBA 2K18, Minecraft, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, Has Been Heroes and more. Their library of games is said to go over time as Nintendo attempts to appeal to third parties to join in on their latest console.
