To start off the new year, Tesla reduced the pricing on all of their available models by $2,000 USD. Using it to offset the federal tax rebate in the United States now that is has been halved. The Tesla Model 3 at its lowest, is now priced at $44,000 before the savings is applied. The Tesla Model S, is now priced at $76,000 and the Tesla Model X, $82,000.
Closer to the end of 2018, Elon Musk promoted that deliveries from customers who aren’t able to receive their vehicle within the time-frame would become available to everyone. Despite a last-ditch effort to push the company’s goal of 500,000 vehicles sold, however only half of it was achieved. Still impressive enough, it goes to show that there is an increasing desire of electric vehicles.
The clock for the rebate is ticking after Tesla hit the 100,000 vehicles sold. Now halved, it shall diminish further in July 2019 before being completely eliminated at the end of the year. Although, Tesla, GM, and other companies have banded together in order to persuade the United States legislation to lengthen the incentives further. In an effort to entice the public to adopt electric vehicles.
