China’s Moon Rover Powers Up

After several days in hibernation on the far side of the Moon. The successful launch of Jade Rabbit 2 has now re-established contact with the relay satellite that is being used to communicate between Earth and the rover. An image released from the Chinese National Space Administration, shows the location of the original touchdown from last week of Chang’e 4. In comparison from other countries, China is the first to reach the far-side. The Moon itself serves as an obstacle in communication between unmanned vehicles and Earth. China figured a solution in that problem by using a relay satellite to be the medium for communication.

The mission for the rover is help scientists understand more about our solar system in its early days. As well as the first stars in the universe. China is pushing to join the United States, Russia, and Europe in the advancement of space exploration. There are rumors that China might strive to be the first to construct a lunar base, beating the United States with President Trump’s order for NASA to return to the Moon.
