AMD announces Radeon VII

Watch out RTX 2080, there’s a new competitor in town. The new 7nm graphics card by AMD has been unveiled at CES. It will be shipped starting on February 7th and priced at $699. You guessed it, that is the same price as the nVidia RTX 2080. The second-gen Vega architecture is 25 percent more powerful using the same amount of power usage from the previous generation. For benchmark sake comparing the previous generation Vega, Battlefield V performs 35%, Fortnite performs 25%, Strange Brigade performs 42% better. In those cases, it also performs at the same level if not better than the RTX 2080. Furthermore, in content creation, there is an improvement in performance in different software such as Blender, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere and OpenCL. Since it uses the Vega architecture with high-bandwidth memory, the Radeon VII comes with 16 GB capacity.
