Announced today, Xbox Game Studios corporate vice president Matt Booty revealed the branding change. The company handles 343 Industries, Compulsion Games, The Initiative, inXile Entertainment, Minecraft, Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment, Playground Games, Rare, Turn 10 Studios, and Unlead Labs under its fold. Some of this change does make sense since Xbox as a platform has been evolving from a dedicated hardware. Pushing towards PC gaming and as a service itself towards Nintendo for example. Xbox games could also be pushing outward to other platforms as well.
We shall receive further information from this development at Game Developer’s Conference. As the future of the company with cross-platform development and more is discussed.
