Apple Announces Apple TV+ And Other Services

Today at the Steve Jobs Theater, the tech giant announced a variety of upcoming services. Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade and Apple Card. Yup, that is a whole lot of apples. With the new TV streaming service, it includes original content and the inclusion of existing content/service providers. The service will come as a self-serving application that will be available on some television models (Samsung, LG, and Vizio) and streaming devices (Roku and Amazon). Apple TV+ will arrive in the Fall and pricing will be available at a later date.

For news readers, instead of waiting for the new update to arrive. It came along as a new update for iOS 12.2 today. The company is curating publishers from a modest list of reputable companies. In addition, specific content from other countries will be available as well. For now, aside from the United States, Canada will have their news and magazines available on the new service. Apple is pricing News+ at $9.99 USD per month and Family Sharing is available.

Now for gaming subscription, Apple announced Arcade as an inclusive service. Curated games developed for Apple devices are immediately available to download and play. However, what Apple is providing to the consumers is also to provide revenue to game developers that use the platform. An ad-free and no in-app purchase service that keeps the fun going. Apple Arcade will be available in the Fall, and it will support Family Sharing as well. In addition, games will not be online-only so you’ll be able to play offline anywhere.

Apple teamed up with Goldman Sachs to bring a new financial incentive for using Apple devices. They are calling it, Apple Card. Using the secured security system that Apple devices are known for. Users will be able to apply for Apple Card and start using it in minutes. Notable features are Daily Cash, which is cashback for any purchases used with Apple Card. Simplifying purchases and to keep a clear tab on them by location, date and amount. Apple also wants its users to be financially responsible by having keep track of their purchases using color coding and recommending the best payments on their bills. They will also not include any fees whether its late or over-charged. Finally, Apple also teamed up with MasterCard to provide a titanium, laser-etched card that focuses on security by providing absolutely no compromising numeral information to thieves. For this service, it’ll arrive during Summer.

With all these new exciting services coming. Apple couldn’t stress enough on the security to protect its users that’ll be using the highly personal-information sensitive services.
