Nintendo has teamed up with the conglomerate Tencent company, stakeholder in Epic Games, Bluehole and other companies. They have been tasked to bring Nintendo’s popular mobile console Switch to China.
It was well known for a time that China banned the sale of video game consoles and it was finally overturned in 2015. Since then, Sony and Microsoft have been selling their consoles in the country. Now for Nintendo’s sake, Tencent is clearing a few hurdles such as in the Chinese province of Guandong. The officials there have given the company permission to begin distributing. However, they are required to provide a “test version” of New Super Mario Bros Ultimate Deluxe. Once this run is complete, it’ll only be a matter of time till Chinese players have a chance of owning the beloved console.
