Microsoft Press Conference

One event that we weren’t able to attend in person. However, we managed to get great news!

Microsoft announced Project Scarlett which is their new upcoming console. Touting powerful next-gen features that rivals today’s PCs. Having 4x the power of an Xbox One X, it will be capable of running 8K resolution at 120 FPS. Which is insane to be honest, as well as supporting ray-tracing. It will come equipped with an SSD that will improve reading and writing performance immensely. Microsoft has stated that they will serve as virtual RAMs. AMD and Microsoft have teamed up to bring a Zen 2 CPU to the console. Microsoft stresses that Scarlett is designed for gaming, which is a welcomed correction from their previous Xbox One failure. Which in the console war, allowed PlayStation to shine to gamers as the ideal gaming console.

On top of Project Scarlett, Microsoft announced that Halo: Infinite will be its launch title. With its release pushed to the consoles’ release to Holiday 2020. Just a year, so it isn’t that bad. Fortunately, it will be coming to the Xbox One and PC platforms.

With the rumor of George R.R. Martin producing a game in collaboration with From Software. It has been officially revealed that it is true! Their upcoming open-world game is called, Elden Ring.

Filling the growing cluster of streaming services is Microsoft’s xCloud. Which will be launched in October as Google’s Stadia is set to launch. They also announced a new Xbox One Elite controller that is configurable at a premium price. That will be released on November 4 for $180.

In further news, The Outer Worlds has a release date now and it’s October 25. Gears of War 5 will be released on September 10. Gearbox announced a new DLC that is now available and free for a limited time. Tying Borderlands 2 into 3. Foriza Horizon 4 received a LEGO expansion. Phantasy Star Online 2 is being sent across the sea to Western audiences. Having all available content and will be free-to-play coming Spring 2020.

CD Projekt released a new trailer for their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 that featured a popular actor. Keanu Reeves plays a character in the game but further information on who that character is remains a secret.

Bleeding Edge was announced by a recently acquisition of Ninja Theory. Known for the recently acclaimed Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.

Microsoft announced an acquisition of Double Fine, makers of the Psychonauts series and Kickstarted Broken Age. As their CEO Tim Schafer revealed a new trailer for Psychonauts 2.

Rare announced the long-awaited return to the notoriously difficult game, Battletoads. Providing a trailer to see it in action, hopefully they adjusted the difficult. Coming to Xbox Game Pass.
