DigitalVoid staff attends E3 2019 as the biggest gaming event in the industry begins! Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center this year. The doors opened for those wearing the ‘Gamer’ badge at 2 pm. Early entry was given to the Media, Exhibitors, Industry and Premium badge holders at 11 am. The E3 Coliseum panels which is held at the Novo theater started off with Gears 5. Contained other panels focused on games and topics regarding the gaming industry as a whole. Unfortunately, DigitalVoid staff weren’t able to attend these panels. Given that this year and in recent years, the public have been given the opportunity to attend which increased the lines at booths.
Bethesda, coming off from their E3 showcase. Brought in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Doom Eternal, Elder Scrolls Blades and more for attendees to play. They also held a mini-store of merchandise for those to purchase ranging from shirts, hats, figures and more.
THQNordic is promoting their latest games such as the Destroy All Humans! Remake and Monster Jam Steel Titans. They had an outdoor booth to play as well where people can take pictures of several monster trucks on display. As well as a blown up head of Crypto. Their DJ were blasting a mixture of 80s and pop music.
Bandai Namco were promoting the latest Dragon Ball game known as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Their booth had a large Dragon Ball themed entrance. Other games presented were Code Vein, Disney Tsum Tsum Festival and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan.
Square Enix is out promoting Final Fantasy VII Remake and the new update to Final Fantasy XIV Online, Shadowbringers. DigitalVoid staff managed to try out the new update that involved in defeating the boss Titania. We failed. It was a fun 20-minute demo that would’ve resulted in having a T-shirt plus photo taken if we won. They were also showing attendees more footage on the recently revealed Marvel’s Avengers game.
SEGA held their booth promoting upcoming games. Such as a remaster of Catherine: Full Body, Judgement, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. Regarding Mario & Sonic, they held a large Olympic themed area. Where attendees can watch players compete against each other. Nearby that area, they held an indoor rock-climbing wall.
Nintendo had a large footprint in the West Hall. Where they allowed attendees play several games on the Nintendo Switch. Such as Pokemon Sword and Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Doom Eternal, The Elder Scrolls: Blades and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. They had a spot dedicated to Luigi’s Mansion 3 as a themed-area.
