The Dead Don’t Die Review

The Dead Don’t Die released on Friday, June 14th. Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch the low-budget film having a star-studded cast. Featuring Bill Murray and Adam Driver as Cliff Roberston and Ronnie Peterson for the Centerville Police. Their version of Earth has been altered through polar fracking that caused oddities to happen. Creating a zombie uprising where they have a main focus other than eating living humans. With the first killings revealing an interest in coffee with those initial zombies played by Iggy Pop and Sara Driver. We learn quick backgrounds behind Centerville residents such as Hank Thompson, Farmer Miller, Hermit Bob and Zelda Winston who are played by Danny Glover, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits and Tilda Swinton. Surviving the night as each resident tries to survive with their luck. The fourth wall breaks multiple times in the film as most of the residents are aware of their fates or outside references before hand. Those are spot-on most of the time and help elevate the some-what disappointing film.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
