Annabelle Comes Home Review

Today, Annabelle Comes Home. See what I did there? The film acts as a sequel to the previous Annabelle films and prequel to the Conjuring. Starring McKenna Grace and Madison Iseman as Judy Warren and Mary Ellen. The story plays through a single day and night where Annabelle is set loose. Mary Ellen is Judy’s babysitter who has an uninvited friend Daniela visit the Warren home. Rummaging through the Warren household for the spooky artifacts as Mary Ellen and Judy are distracted outside. Daniela enters the Warren artifacts room. Touching absolutely everything she can to see a sign of what she believes would be her deceased father. Hoping that there’s an afterlife and find forgiveness in a car accident that lead to his death. However, Annabelle plays her game by acting as the sign and allows Daniela to release her blessedly-locked case. Things go crazy through the film as several spirits attack the girls. A romantic interest for Mary Ellen, Bob is brought into the film as a comedic break from the jump scares. Ed and Lorraine Warren are present in the film as minor roles from the beginning and the end of it. Despite the lackluster of a story push for the Conjuring franchise. It’s an enjoyable film for fans and first-timers.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
