Hobbs And Shaw Review

The first spin-off in the Fast and the Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw. It opened this weekend with a large $200 million budget riding on its shoulders. Hoping to prove if its possible for different characters from the series to have their own story developed. In the case of Hobbs & Shaw, with the great chemistry of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. It worked great as the addition of Vanessa Kirby playing as Hattie Shaw, whom is Deckard Shaw’s sister. Their story of saving the world from a deadly virus that was implanted in Hattie as they’re being pursued by Idris Ella’s Brixton Lore. Who is pretty much ‘Black Superman’ and uses his enhancements to fulfill his boss’ mission on retrieving the Snowflake virus. The Fast and the Furious DNA is apparent throughout the film, with the love of hot girls, cars and family. Which is touched upon as the audience sees more background behind Luke Hobbs’ and Deckard Shaw’s family. Heading over to Samoa as a final desperate attempt to save Hattie and defeating Brixton. It is a ridiculously fun film for those that enjoy the franchise. However, with the growing need to push further from its grounding. The need to enjoy the film for what it is and brush off the outrageous twists and turns is best for those that aren’t fans of the films.

It earns a 3 out of 5.
