With the news of Disney+ coming soon with several series in production to be available on the platform. Another possible series in the Star Wars universe was raised originally as a film with the recent Solo: A Star Wars Story. It and others was later canned due to its poor performance in the box office. Now in the form of a television series and Disney placing huge investments in the coming streaming service. It would make sense for the giant to grab many potential users as possible. Fans of the franchise has been pushing for a solo Kenobi film that would take place after Revenge of the Sith and prior to A New Hope.
Many news outlets have been reporting that Ewan McGregor has been in negotiations with Disney. If things are seen in a good light with the project being green-lit. We will most likely see the project debut on the Disney+ service next year. Until then, Disney is working on The Mandalorian and the untitled Rogue One series. These will be available when the platform launches this Fall.
