Ready Or Not Review

For this week, Ready Or Not was released on a Wednesday night. It is a comedy horror film following a newly-wed bride who joins a rich family from her groom. Grace, played by Samara Weaving who is our protagonist is told by her husband Alex Le Domas, played by Mark O’Brien. That an unusual tradition in his family requires the new family member to play a game. Where by winning, is allowed to join and enjoy the wealth Alex’s family has to offer. At first, Grace takes Alex’s word as a joke and believes it’s a simple game and is selected by a mysterious box to play a game of hide-and-seek. The family patriarch gives her an explanation behind the family history and regarding the mysterious box, where everyone takes the rules seriously. Apparently, the box’s powers caused other family members to die unusually who didn’t play or lost. Grace hides at first before she becomes bored and encounters a maid who gets accidentally killed by the Le Domas. Given the circumstances that if she refuses to play, she’ll end up being killed so she decides to accept her husbands’ help of attempting to flee the house. One by one, the family servants are accidentally killed by the Le Domas while Grace dispatches the family members. The film itself is great in comedy where you root for Grace to survive as long as she can. The film pays off satisfyingly and you are left positively happy while hoping for a sequel behind the mysterious box’s powers.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
