Don’t Let Go opened this week, it is a thriller with a supernatural twist. It stars David Oyelowo as Jack Radcliff, who is a detective that has a close connection with his niece Ashley Radcliff, played by Storm Reid. During the beginning of the film, we see the bond between them and learn that she’s having issues with her family. Jack is her father’s brother and talks to him, which later helps Ashley improve her relationship with him. One day, Ashley calls Jack in a panic but doesn’t make sense of her situation. Jack later visits her house and finds a murder scene of the whole family. A few weeks later and still mourning, he receives a call from Ashley. Scared and curious, he answers and at the other end of the call is Ashley. Shocked, he heads to the cordoned house and finds her phone at the scene. At the moment, he gets another call from her and tries to figure out where is she. Throughout this mystery, he realizes that he’s calling from the future and appears to be given another chance to save Ashley and her family. However, he still doesn’t know who the killer is and uses her present and what he knows to slowly unravel it. In the end, the film’s rising action and climax puts you on the edge of your seat. Hoping that Ashley and Jack can save each other until it’s too late to figure out who the killer is.
