It Chapter Two Review

It: Chapter Two releases today with the story of the Losers’ Club concluding. 27 years have passed and Mike, played by Isaiah Mustafa calls all of the former members to return to Derry. With the reports of a resurgence of Pennywise The Clown, Mike has been preparing on the permanent defeat of It. Calling each member, they each go through their own strange encounters as they realize that they forgot what happened all those years ago. Mike at first, fails to convince them to keep their blood pact but has Bill, played by James McAvoy understand the Ritual of Chud. Helping convince the rest of the group to stay, they each are sent to find their own token from the past. Finding a token requires them to go through their own past and encounter It in several different attacks. In Bill’s case, he finds a child who is going through similar experiences that he did and tries to help avoid him getting killed by It. At a town carnival, Bill chases the boy into a funhouse and fails to save the boy as It breaks through the funhouse mirror eating him. After this encounter, Bill is determined to kill It himself and having his friends standby for their safety. The rest of Losers’ Club show up at the Neibolt House to back up Bill and they enter the sewers. Leading to It’s lair and they perform the ritual before it fails and It is released. Attacking the Losers’ resulting in Eddie being fatally wounded, but not before the surviving members. Use their courage to make It weakened to the point he’s no longer a threat. They destroy It’s heart and escape the sewers as it comes crashing down. Derry becomes different as everyone moves on and It’s influence is no longer lingering. It: Chapter Two is a long three-hour film that lingers too long with a great performance from the cast.

It earns a 3 out of 5.
