Apple Special Event Announcements

Apple’s big event announcing their newest generation of iPhones and other devices went out today. They decided to skip the usual warm-up talk regarding their advancements in all aspects. Going straight into Apple Arcade with upcoming games coming to the subscription service. Launching on September 19th and with a pricing of $4.99 a month, including family sharing. To warm people up to Apple Arcade, it offers a one-month free trial before they can decide to stick to it.

Another upcoming service is Apple TV+, which they confirmed a November 1st launch date. Priced at a ’movie rental’ range of $4.99 per month, which also includes family sharing for a 1-week trial. Apple pushed more of their upcoming television content such as announcing Jason Momoa’s See.

iPad’s received a less than stellar announcement with a low-budget successor to the previous 9.7 inch iPad. Touting the A10 Fusion Chip and use of the smart connector plus Apple Pencil support. Priced at a low $329 that’ll start shipping September 30th. iPad Pros from last generation are here to stay, maybe a silent upgrade during the holidays?

Apple Watch has their newest generation, Series 5 being announced. Coming with an always-on display that’ll handle up to 18 hours of battery-life. It intelligently dims the display when the wrist is not raised and brightens when raised. Several health features were introduced and improved with the Series 5. Apple introduced a Watch Studio to bring customization and ordering their watches at a more simplified way.

iPhones for this year were finally announced at the very end. Introducing the iPhone 11, replacing the iPhone XR and coming at $699. The iPhone 11 comes with two rear cameras that focuses on wide-angles. It also comes with the new Night Mode feature that’ll work great in low-light situations. The front-facing camera is now at 12 MP with a focus on slow-motion videos. Slofies. Battery for the iPhone 11 is an hour improvement from the XR. iPhone 11 Pro is this year’s XS and priced at $999. It comes with a triple-camera system in the rear. Both wide-angles that comes from the iPhone 11, but also a telephoto lens. Apple emphasized that the camera system will function at consistent settings on all three cameras when recording. So when the user switches lenses, it’ll keep all exposure, aperture, etc. consistent. Another upgrade to the iPhone 11 Pro is the new A13 Bionic Chip that brings improvement and efficiency that iPhones are known for. Replacing the XS Max is the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Priced at $1,099 and coming with similar specifications of the iPhone 11 Pro. The iPhone 11’s will be available for pre-order starting Friday September 13th at 5 am PDT, and released on September 20th.
