The next-gen console from the Japanese company Sony, is now officially the PlayStation 5! With a launch date of Holiday 2020 but no specific timing yet. Sony also is providing updates regarding the PlayStation 5. Going into the new controller that’ll be bundled with the console that’ll provide more immersion. With more a focus in touch-based gaming that the current controller has been dwelling on.
Sony is changing the rumble-effect that has been in their controllers since their first PlayStation. Well, after they introduced the DualShock to be bundled with the revised PSOne console. The new console will have haptic feedback. Which will improve immersion between genre of games.
Another change coming to the controllers are the triggers in the back. Adding adaptive triggers to the L2 and R2 buttons. Which once again shows the immersion that Sony is pushing. The adaptive triggers can be programmed by developers to allow different uses of force on the triggers. To perform an action such as acceleration or a grenade-throw. However, developers can do much more creatively and we’ll see more in the future.
