Zombieland Double Tap Review

Ten years have passed since the original Zombieland, and the original four return for another go. Using one of Columbus’ rules as the title, Zombieland Double Tap is quite enjoyable. Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, and Woody Harrelson return as Columbus, Wichita, Little Rock and Tallahassee. With the passage of time, the main focus for the film is Little Rock growing up and wanting to find similarly aged people after spending ten years with the main group. Columbus proposes to Wichita and she runs off with Little Rock afraid of committing. Along the road, the group brings along a survivor named Madison played by Zoey Deutch and the group encounter a new kind of zombie that Columbus dubs the “T-800”. Due to it being smarter, faster, and more resilient than the other zombies. The group reaches a hotel where Tallahassee bonds with a survivor with the love of Elvis who runs the motel, Nevada played by Rosario Dawson and they end up having sex. The group reach the location of where Little Rock and her poser survivor friend Berkeley played by Avan Jovia which is called the Babylon. Where Generation-Z survivors stay and enjoy the post-apocalyptic life not resorting to violence but love and weed. Due to this life, they draw a large horde of “T-800s” to Babylon and they all fight to survive without the usage of guns but with wit. Zombieland Double Tap feels like another installment in the horror-comedy franchise and not an advancement for the original. The cast are great in comedy and chemistry which helps the film be enjoyable and worth a try.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
