Today, Sony unveils to the masses on the design for their upcoming console. Having unveiled the logo for PlayStation 5, the controller that’ll come with the new console and complete specs. The fifth-generation of PlayStation consoles displaying the evolution with nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. Well, it does give off a 2020 look. Sony was live-streaming earlier their event that replaces their E3 keynotes, that has since been cancelled due to the overall climate of 2020.
Remember, Sony is pushing AMD hardware for the PlayStation 5. An AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom AMD graphics unit. Allowing gamers to play at 8K and 4K graphics with the console’s variable clock settings. Plus, SSD technology that’ll bring a seamless experience to PlayStation 5 owners. Transitioning from the PlayStation menu into the game, and whichever level or gamemode they set their eyes on. Epic Games showed the PlayStation’s capabilities and potential when they unveiled their Unreal Engine 5 that’ll improve gaming overall.
Alongside the console’s unveiling, Sony also announced that the hardware will allow backwards compatibility. With a running start of nearly 4,000 games in the PlayStation 4 library that’ll run on the PlayStation 5. That is insane but great to allow such a transition to the new generation console. There is a host of new games being announced for this Summer’s Festival of Games. A lot of those are coming PlayStation 5 and boy, it’s an exciting time to be a gamer.
