After Apple having announced their latest iPad and Apple Watch series back in September. We’re now having today’s event cover their iPhones as well as introducing the HomePod Mini.
The HomePod Mini uses Apple’s new S5 processor that improves its performance. Apple highlighted its ability to recognize different voices with each one having their own profiles. It’s able to use Siri for a new feature called, Intercom which as the name suggests. Intercoms other users with their devices or other HomePods to relay a message. The HomePod Mini also works well with Apple’s HomeKit for automation with a phrase. The device is priced only $99 and is available to order on November 6th.
There were four new iPhones that were announced all touting their latest and greatest new processor, A14 Bionic. Which is of course, faster and more efficient than their previous chip. In addition, all four phones have 5G-capabilities that speeds past 4G LTE’s slower download and upload speeds. However, Apple introduced a smart mode that changes between the two speeds as a way to save battery life and for those non-unlimited data users. Lastly, another feature that arrived with all four models is the old MagSafe branding and iPhone 4 design. Describing the MagSafe feature, magnets attached on the back of the phone allows for various accessories. Like a wallet pocket, phone case or a magnetic charger. Those of which were shown off during the event, however it does bring possibilities for third-parties to use the new feature in various ways. For the cross retro/new design, is a long desired look for Apple phones returning to iPhone 4 flat-edged design. Which actually looks great and potentially allows more room for internal hardware.
