Attack on Titan ‘Children of the Forest’ Review

Released this week, episode 72 of Attack on Titan premiered titled ‘Children of the Forest.’ Quick flashback to when Connie’s village was attacked by Zeke’s forces transforming them to Titans. Levi notices that Zeke doesn’t show remorse when he retells the incident. Soon after, a messenger tells Levi about Eren and Floch’s escape as well as the military’s planned ruse to take Eren out. Jump to Falco and Gabi, who are attending dinner along the Braus family. The two warrior candidates jump the gun by telling Niccolo their truth, the Marleyan that Kaya told them would help them. He incapacitates the two and tells the Braus family the truth, desiring to avenge Sasha by killing Gabi. Artur Braus shows restraint, only wanting peace and forgiveness. Unfortunately, Kaya feels betrayed and grabs a knife to strike at Gabi. Mikasa and the other scouts who arrived earlier, put a stop to the disturbance. Gabi is secured in a room by Mikasa and Armin who feels guilty about her actions. Armin discloses about someone he knew that resembles a lot like Gabi. Speaking of the devil, Eren shows up shocking the three. Jaegerists arrive to the other room with the rest of the attendees and hold them at gunpoint. Eren reveals, he only wants to talk. An abrupt ending till next episode. The episode continues the journey of Gabi as well as the general consensus of war and past atrocities. Who really needs to pay for it when the past is the past. ‘Children of the Forest’ felt like a nice filler episode that shouldn’t be skipped. Learning that the wine contains Zeke’s spinal fluid and knowing what can happen to those affected to it. Things become intense knowing high-ranking officials mainly drank it.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
