Star Wars: The Bad Batch ‘Cut and Run’ Review

Released this week, episode 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered titled ‘Cut and Run.’ We follow Clone Force 99 after their escape from Kamino. They head to Saleucami to meet an old friend, former clone trooper Cut who has since encountered Rex a day prior to Clone Force 99’s arrival. Learning more about Order 66 and the new transformation of the Empire. Hunter learns more about the inhibitor chips that all clones have as Tech wasn’t clear enough on the information. Cut informs the squad that he and his family are leaving the planet as the growing presence of the Empire on Saleucami might find him. Hunter appears to have no experience on raising a child since he’s a clone, however Cut encourages him on what he has learned. Tech learns that chain codes that would allow Cut and his family to leave would require improvisation by arriving to the spaceport. Where Tech and Echo duplicate blank chips while Cut and the rest join the line for departure to await for those codes. Things go a bit awry as the two are discovered and Wrecker joins them in the fight. Omega manages to sneak through the commotion with the chips and was at first encouraged by Hunter to go with Cut and his family. She declines at the last moment and runs back to Clone Force 99 as they manage to depart safely. ‘Cut and Run’ is a fun episode as we continue to learn more about Order 66 and the emerging Empire.

It earns a 3 out of 5.
