Star Wars: The Bad Batch ‘Cornered’ Review

Released this week, episode 4 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered titled ‘Cornered.’ We follow Clone Force 99 as they learn their ship has been flagged having them scramble their transponder. To do so, they land on the nearby planet of Pantora and acquire supplies with what credits they still have. The depot manager contacts someone, revealing themselves to be Fennec Shand (known from The Mandalorian) on the hunt for Omega. We’ll soon see action however, Hunter, Omega and Echo head to a pawn shop to try to bargain items for credits. The owner eyes a disguised Echo posing as a droid and bargains for him, Hunter does so for the episode. Soon afterward a distracted Omega chases after a voorpaack, a dog-looking animal chewing on a clone trooper doll. Taking her to far from Hunter and Echo but is found by Shand. She poses as a friendly Samaritan that’ll help her find them. The action begins as Hunter finds Omega and Shand with different areas of the port getting damaged. With Hunter and Shand chasing after Omega as she runs for her life back to the shuttle. At the end, Shand fails in catching Omega as the Clone Force 99’s shuttle escapes Pantora. ‘Cornered’ feels like a filler episode as we continue to see the era transition from Republic to Empire; Clone Force 99 making a pit stop on a planet as they adjust to their new lives. Yet learning that Omega has a bounty on her head to be captured alive and who’s responsible for it remains a mystery.

It earns a 2 out of 5.
