Released this week, episode 101 of My Hero Academia premiered titled ‘Have a Merry Christmas!’ Bakugo and Todoroki are being interviewed for their heroic efforts from defeating the villains earlier. However, it gets overshadowed by the incident in Deika City. A bloody but victorious Shigaraki stands before his destruction giving out a maniacal laugh. Back at U.A., the students are lectured by Midnight and Mt. Lady on how to appear in front of the media. Each student conducts a mock interview by Mt. Lady and she gives pointers on their performance. Midoriya is timid until he gets questioned for his powers and about All Might. Which begins to ramble about and hypes everyone about using his new and improved power, Blackwhip. That hysterically disappoints everyone but himself as a mere fizz. Elsewhere, Principal Nezu appears before All Might and mentions to him that they’ll be restarting Hero Work-Studies. This revelation is presented to other U.A. staff as they deduce the Hero Public Safety Commission is concerned about the incident at Deika City. Needing absolutely any able body to prepare themselves for something coming. By days end, Christmas party at the dorms begin. All Class 1-A students talk to each other about who they’ll go to for their studies. More importantly, Aizawa arrives with Santa Eri! Who unfortunately is still learning about the different holidays and the like and adorably confuses them to Class 1-A’s delight. Finally, Todoroki mentions to Bakugo and Midoriya that since they’re out of options to work-study with him at Endeavor’s agency. ‘Have a Merry Christmas’ was a great episode as any holiday episode should be. Lots of things have been occurring in front and behind the scenes to keep up with the lovable students of Class 1-A and overall storywise.
It earns a 4 out of 5.
