Star Wars: The Bad Batch ‘Common Ground’ Review

Released this week, episode 10 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered titled ‘Common Ground.’ We start off on Raxus where the Empire has taken over the former Separatist capitol and is announcing the changes. Senator Avi Singh refuses to follow through the Imperial officer’s plan and denounces the new regime. Quickly into custody, he has his droid send out an emergency request to rescue the captured senator. Lo-and-behold, the Bad Batch awkwardly take the job since the Clone Wars is no longer on-going. Rescuing a former Separatist leader, Hunter has Omega stay with Cid for her protection. Upon arriving to the planet, the Bad Batch stealthily enter the compound taking out various guards and acquire the senator with help from his droid. Unfortunately, the moment brings in an alert to all Imperial forces who quickly fire upon them. The Bad Batch and company manage to escape the compound after trading fire with a apprehended AT-TE. Back at Cid’s Bar, a gloomy Omega impresses Cid with her strategic skills and manages to win several matches to pay off the squad’s debts. Which to the surprise of Hunter when they return, he challenges her to a match in which winning will allow her to tag along onto the next mission. ‘Common Ground’ is a filler-feel episode but it now shows the perspective of the former Separatist being under the Empire’s control.

It earns a 3 out of 5.
