My Hero Academia ‘One Thing At A Time’ Review

Released this week, episode 103 of My Hero Academia premiered titled ‘One Thing At A Time.’ Starting off with no. 2 hero Hawks returning to a mansion carrying numerous trackers on his wings. He’s summoned before several villains and praise him for embracing the ‘Meta Liberation War’ ideology. Hawks leaves the room but eavesdrops the villains conversing and learns about something happening in four months regarding Shigaraki. Back at Endeavor’s Agency, he’s shocked about what Hawks is telling him from the book he handed him. A flashback occurs where Endeavor is told by the Hero Commission, having to ready young heroes in work studies suddenly restarting and being mandatory. Yet the Commission doesn’t tell him exactly the reasons behind the sudden restart. Hawks’ message seems to confirm a growing dread of what’s to come but not knowing the full picture except to be ready. Endeavor departs his office and asks his work-study heroes on what they need to work on to improve. Midoriya goes on a ramble but Endeavor is able to calmly understand him. Bakugo wants to find his missing piece as his desire to surpass the no. 1 hero continues. Todoroki desires to master Flashfire Fist but isn’t interested in any family relations and wants to be treated as another hero. The heroes depart and Endeavor goes through various training advice as all three take it to heart. ‘One Thing At A Time’ can appear to be a slow episode, but there’s a lot of character and story development. The growing dread on Hawks’ investigation’s findings and elsewhere.

It earns a 4 out of 5.
