Released this week, episode 2 (58th) of The Expanse’s season 6 premiered titled ‘Azure Dragon.’ Returning back to Laconia, following a young girl that appeared in the previous episode whose still acclimating to the planet’s native residents. We return back to the Solar system in which the Rocinante is receiving a resupply as well as a new crew member, Bobby. She tells her by order of Secretary General Avasarala to go on the offense on the spotter ship. The Rocinante reaches towards the ship but it quickly turns into a hot pursuit as Bobby tells Holden not to harm the ship even to disable it. They use an EMP to knock it out and deal with the Belter crew. Gaining new information of all Free Navy asteroids being used to keep UN and Mars at bay. Back on the Moon, Avasarala and UN forces were radio silent during the operation despite a nagging Monica to get the latest scoop. Avasarala calls Monica into her office to ask her in Monica’s words, ‘create propaganda’ to use against the Belters. Having Monica use her talents to demonstrate the Free Navy’s radical and devastating actions on Earth. Elsewhere, Drummer and her crew meet up with a loosely-aligned Free Navy ship that she plans on transferring Michio over. At first, Drummer wants to quickly finish the trade to avoid any potential Free Navy ambush. However, the Free Navy captain offers interesting intel in which we’ll learn more about later. Finally, after freeing Filip Inaros from jail in which a frustrated Marco explains that they have no time to fool around. However, word on the easy treatment and Filip’s lack of discipline spills over to Marco’s ears. His close confident, Rosenfeld Guoliang explains a past discipline she experienced before and suggests a similar treatment to Filip. In order for him to get over his guilt on killing his close friend, Yoan. In which, he snaps after trying to leave a guilt-ridden message and leaves a somewhat professional message explaining Yoan’s heroic sacrifice. Back to Marco, upon learning about the fallen spotter ship’s data to the UN. He grows in glee in Rosenfeld’s previous statement now true that war will soon reach him. ‘Azure Dragon’ continues the fight against the Free Navy with our heroes of the Rocinante and the rest of the system gaining a victory. We learn a little more in each character shown whether they’re a major or supporting role. Tensions are steadily rising as we can only speculate what the UN and Martian forces decide to do, now that they don’t have to worry about asteroid impacts.
