The group makes a plan in dealing with the Pykes making a move on them. They decide to use the Sanctuary as their shelter as they await reinforcements from Freetown, unaware that Cobb Vanth has been dispatched by Cad Bane. Who of course makes an appearance to the Pyke leader and the mayor of Mos Espa, Mok Shaiz as it is revealed that the Pykes were the ones that destroyed the Tusken camp that took Boba as one of their own. Cad Bane tells the two that he has an idea to draw Boba Fett out as Mok Shaiz pleas no further damage to Mos Espa. Outskirts of Mos Espa, an X-Wing approaches Peli Motto’s hangar and lands revealing Grogu having been fly by R2-D2. She tells R2 that Din Djarin isn’t at the port and will feed the little guy, she notices Grogu wearing the chain mail which appears to decided his fate. Back to the Sanctuary, Fennec Shand tells Boba and Din that Gamorrean Guards are patrolling the star port, Black Krssantan keeping the Trandoshans in check and the Mods observing the Aqualish workers. Believing the three crime families plan to keep their word. Cad Bane then arrives outside the Sanctuary, threatening Boba Fett and inviting him to a duel but Shand manages to keep Boba cool-headed. Bane tries to instigate him by revealing the Pykes were responsible for destroying the Tusken camp but keeps calm, Bane tells Boba that he’s gone soft. Soon afterward, the three crime families turn against Boba Fett’s forces throughout Mos Espa. Shand runs to aid the Mods who are pinned and run off to deal with the Pyke leader directly later. Black Krrsantan is overwhelmed by the Trandoshans as he viciously fights them off. The Gamorrean guards are led off the cliffs of the space port to their deaths. Despite wanting Boba to surrender, the Pykes who have surrounded the Sanctuary are attacked by Boba and Din. A Western-style shootout occurs as Boba and Din use their several weapons and gadgets to take out the numerically superior forces. However, the Pykes use two large droids which use shields making them nearly invincible. Boba tells Din to distract them as Boba has a plan and runs off somewhere. Din soon encounters Motto who arrived on a cart to tell him about Grogu but the group runs away from danger of the large droid. Grogu is revealed to Din and they reconcile, Grogu leaps onto Din’s arms out of sheer joy. With the Mods and the reinforcements of Freetown pinned by one of the large droids and several Pykes. Din, Grogu, Motto and even Majordomo pinned by the other. Boba Fett makes an entrance as he’s mounted on the young Rancor, attacking the large droid and with the help of Din and Grogu take it out. Boba then rushes to aid the other group, Cad Bane appears and uses flamethrower to scare the young Rancor away from Boba. The two have a duel with Bane nearly winning and taunts Boba. He is then bested by Boba as uses his gaderffi stick to knock Bane down and at first hesitates to kill Bane but is taunted again. The final blow to the chest ends Bane. Elsewhere, a curious and fearless Grogu uses the force to help the rampaging young Rancor to go to sleep. Being absolutely adorable by walking up and falling asleep next to it. Back to Fennec Shand, she arrives to quickly and remorselessly kill the crime family leaders, the mayor of Mos Espa and finally the Pyke leader. Afterward, Mos Espa is slowly rebuilding itself and residents pay their respects to Boba Fett as he passes through the town. In space, Din Djarin and Grogu fly off as the youngling annoys him by making use the booster. Cheerfully squealing off-screen. In the end credits, Cobb Vanth is in the bacta tank recovering as the Mod doctor appears to prepare for an operation on him.
‘In the Name of Honor’ was a fun season finale episode as there was plenty of action throughout. The showdown between Boba Fett’s domain against the aggressors of the Pyke syndicate. The brutal fighting of Black Krssantan against the Trandoshans and afterwards, the Pykes themselves. Boba Fett and Din Djarin fighting backside behind backside against all odds using their weapons and gadgets. Fennec Shand being ruthless in killing the crime family leaders, mayor and Pyke leader. There were moments that things became light or just cheesy in some of the choices made through character’s action or lines. However, it is a satisfying conclusion to The Book of Boba Fett’s first season as many of the questions and threats presented to him throughout the season. Having been answered or cleared out of his way, solidifying his claim to the dominion of Tatooine. However, the Pyke leader was just a high-ranking member within the syndicate and was assigned to Tatooine. The threat of them bringing even more forces or dangerous figures like Cad Bane remains. They’ll have to think twice before trying again as Boba Fett stands strong against anyone with his allies.
It earns a 4 out of 5.
